Help Build the New Kelly Center in Havertown!

Over the next year, a brand-new community space is coming to Havertown.  It will be a place for children and teens to learn and grow… a venue for adults and seniors to gather and enjoy the arts… a place that will become a destination for families from our community and beyond.

Join us as we build the new Kelly Center for Music, Arts and Community – coming to the Oakmont neighborhood in early 2019.  We can’t do it without your help!

What is The Kelly Center?

The Kelly Center will be a permanent gathering space where adults, teens, and families alike can enjoy the arts in a safe and comfortable setting.

Currently, the vast majority of performance spaces in Havertown are bars.  This means that families, teens, and children don’t have a community performance space that meets their needs.  The Kelly Center will be an indoor public gathering space where youth and families can participate in the arts in a drug and alcohol-free environment.  At the Center, we will encourage young student artists to develop their skills and participate in performance opportunities… and seniors, adults, and families to enjoy the arts together.

Located at 4 East Eagle Road in the Oakmont section of Havertown, The Kelly Center will offer the following programs for our community:

  • After School Music Programs: afternoon events and performances giving students the opportunity to learn and perform across musical genres

  • Preschool Music Programs: daytime performances designed for parents with young children

  • Senior Programs: performances, sing-alongs, musical exercise programs and more for senior citizens

  • Professional Concerts: evening shows with professional artists in cabaret and concert settings for adults

  • Musical Education: instrumental, voice, and presentation lessons offered by professional artists

  • Spoken Word and Theatre Programs: poetry, storytelling, comedy and one-act plays

  • Ensemble and Choral Programs: performance opportunities for local schools, churches, and organizations

  • Dance Programs: traditional, swing, jazz and more

  • Art Exhibition Space:  for local artists and school art programs

What is Kelly Music for Life?

The Kelly Center is a project of Kelly Music for Life, a 501c3 non-profit organization based in Havertown.

Kelly Music for Life was formed in 2013 to bring people together through the power of music and the arts.  Kelly Music for Life produces the Haverford Spring Fest, a signature community event which draws thousands of visitors each year to enjoy food, music, and family.

In addition to Spring Fest, our organization produces a Concerts in the Park series, providing smaller, neighborhood-focused events throughout the summer.   In 2017, Kelly Music for Life launched a brand-new summer event, the Havertown Irish Festival, which welcomed over 10,000 people to listen, eat, drink, and enjoy.  In October 2018, Kelly Music for Life debuts the very first Haver-talian festival, a Havertown celebration of Italian cuisine and culture.

The Kelly Music for Life team is committed to using the power of music and the arts to make our township an even better place to live and to enrich the lives of our children, teens, families, and other residents.  The Kelly Center is our biggest project yet and will have the longest lasting impact of anything we have ever done.  But we can’t do it without your help!

About this Campaign

We have already acquired the site of the new Kelly Center at 4 E. Eagle Road in Havertown, and have begun construction work at the site.

In order to complete our work and open the Center in the fall of 2018, we need to raise $500,000.  To date, we have raised over $200,000 towards this goal from sponsors, donors, businesses and foundations.  We launched this crowdfunding campaign to reach out to the entire community to ask for your support.

Will you help us build the new Kelly Center by making a generous donation today?  We can’t do it without you!
